Alleged specs of the Galaxy S 2, Desire HD2, Desire 2 and Wildfire 2 are leaked

Seems like the leaked specs of some upcoming smartphone heavyweights are at our disposal (courtesy of Expasys), so it's time to take a closer look at what these handsets have to offer us.

One of the most anticipated smartphones scheduled for MWC appearance is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S (for now, it's simply dubbed... Galaxy S 2), and if these leaked specs are to be believed, this powerhouse of a phone will pack a dual-core MSM8260 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz (previous rumour claimed this handset will be powered by a dual-core Orion processor), a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with a WVGA resolution (480 x 800), an 8MP rear camera capable of full HD recording and a 2MP one for video calling.

These specs don't sound too bad, eh? Anyway, next in line is the HTC Desire HD2, and it's set to offer the same 1.2GHz processor as the Galaxy S 2, but its resolution is listed as qHD (540 x 960). According to these specs, it will also pack an 8MP camera with full HD recording resolution.

Then we have the HTC Desire 2, which is said to be a single-core powered handset (Snapdragon QSD8250 clocked at 1GHz) with two cameras - the rear is a 5MP one, while the front-facing has 2MP. The screen is listed as a Super LCD one with a resolution of 480 x 800.

And after all these great specced phones... here comes the affordable HTC Wildfire 2. Seems like it will sport a 600MHz MSM7227 CPU, a 3.2 TFT screen with a 320 x 480 resolution and a 5MP camera.

A couple weeks ago, TELUS listed the HTC Desire HD as 'coming soon' on their website. Good news for those anxious to get their hands on this device, they're now available from the Canadian carrier.

HTC's Newest Flagship Pictured, In The Wild This Time

You might remember the mysterious HTC render we recently brought you as the alleged upcoming HTC flagship device looking a lot like the HTC Desire HD.

Turns out that the device has been spotted in the wild wearing prototype-like coding on the bottom and we know it's the device from the render because of the speaker curvature as well as the isolated, chrome-surrounded, front facing camera. No, MWC has not started yet but we don't need to wait that much as the device surfaced (actually it was the subway) in the wild of Taipei. And, as you'd have expected from the render showing Android specific buttons, the smartphone runs Google's platform indeed.

HTC Desire update tomorrow Frøya Officer in Holland!

Very hot day today despite the many news about frozen yogurt. After Frøya S Galaxy, Frøya on Milestone arrives Frøya HTC Desire! The Netherlands HTC to announce that tomorrow will be distributed by the official update to Android Frøya 2.2 for all you country. Users of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg will thus be the first to be able to install the final version of the Desire Frøya. There take a long time for this Rom is released for other countries by HTC or perhaps faster, thanks to developers from tomorrow.

If Frøya until last month was still unknown for many phones and not know the timing of updates, the manufacturers seem to have accelerated the progress and issue of new distributions is imminent for many devices, almost all top range.

HTC Officially Switches From AMOLED to Super LCD Displays

Due to AMOLED display panel shortages on Samsung's side, the world's leading AMOLED supplier, HTC has made the official switch from AMOLED to Super LCD to maintain productions of its handsets. Specifically, the HTC Desire and the Nexus One have made the jump from AMOLED to Super LCD.



The Super LCD panels are being made by Sony right now and according to HTC, offers comparable performance to AMOLED and has good battery efficiency.

You can expect new Nexus One and Desire units with new panels later this summer. Curiously, though, the Verizon Wireless HTC Droid Incredible, which have been plagued by the same AMOLED shortages, was not mentioned for the switch to Super LCD, also referred to as SLCD.

HTC Desire appears Rom Frøoo "official" but for shortly

There is an interesting report came from Lore XDA with a link to where it was opened a tread with the official ROM, obviously in beta, of Frøya for HTC Desire. Unfortunately the link and the tread is removed and we could not verify the alert. However it appears that HTC is very forward with the project for Frøya Desire and now that the bulk has been made. Miss some optimizations and system test result but it is likely that the long awaited Frøya for HTC Desire to get even before the end of September.
