We know our readers: obsessive early adopters who'll stop at nothing to have the latest and greatest software on their handsets. Just like us. Unfortunately, sometimes we get burned in the process. But the community is nothing if not tenacious. Now we've got an apparent "fix" for anyone who updated their EVO 4G to the Android 2.2 Froyo build discovered on HTC's servers, only to find out that they were running a non-final build. User Pojoman over at XDADevelopers just upped the .3 to final .6 RUU from Sprint that should correct any woes. Based on the enthusiastic feedback we're reading we'd say that this is good news. Nevertheless, the usual disclaimers apply before hitting the source link below, especially with HTC already acknowledging that a fix is on the way via official channels. Yeah, we know, blah blah blah.
At long last, the Sprint Evo 4G is getting Android 2.2 -- nicknamed Froyo. It's the second U.S. phone to get it -- behind the Google Nexus One -- and the update will be rolling out over the first week or so of August, or you can give the manual install a try by downloading the file from HTC here, and visiting the forums for installation help.
We've gotten our hands on an official build -- though it's not quite the final build -- and have put it through its paces. The overall experience remains the same. HTC's Sense user interface remains on top of Android and is as speedy as it ever was. There new widgets and apps. A bunch of new features. And, of course, two biggies that come with Froyo -- the Just-in-Time compiler, and Adobe Flash.
So join us after the break as we dive into the Android 2.2 update for the Sprint Evo 4G. What's new in Android 2.2?
First things first: We're using software version 3.25.651.1. That's slightly different than what Sprint has said is coming in the over-the-air download, which is version 3.25.651.3. So far as we know, however, all of the major features are intact.
The Evo feels as speedy as it ever has. That's due in part, well, because Android 2.2 is just plain faster. It employs what's called a just-in-time compiler (or JIT), which gives one hell of a boost to basic processing power.
Overall, though, your general experience isn't going to change all that much. The Sense user interface looks the same, though we have some new apps and widgets to play with.

What Galaxy S is aesthetically similar to iPhone no doubt. Galaxy D which has an interface Touch Wiz 3.0 reminiscent of the iPhone UI is clear. But the arrival of the new beta of I9000XXJP3 Frøyaor seem to lead towards a similarity almost embarrassing.
Think you have the functionality of IOS on a system Android Frøya, with video calling, hardware similar to the iPhone 4 and all of the software introduced with the Touch Wiz is a really strange effect.
No denying it, the copy is clear. What's Wrong With a copy of what happened and propose a system among the best on the market?
So here we will soon see what the next version of Galaxy S.

* Same graphics for the context menu with the difference that S Galaxy offers more options. Share it lets you share with Gmail, SMS or Bluetooth (and sure Twitter and other software very soon, or if installing third-party programs) the selected text. The search shows rather good choices:

As we can see has been implemented reporting unread SMS with the meter (this far only Samsung app store). Most likely the flow will also feature on Mail, Telephone and Facebook is on the Market Samsung.

What about .. This was the third beta in less than 24 hours for Galaxy Frøya S and every time the news are many. Still the work is hard and the rom does not offer any new features that Frøya introduced mainly at the kernel level, JIT compiler and overall speed. The road taken and the news we like to have this pattern, S Journal Frøya for Galaxy will change the face on the telephone.
Very hot day today despite the many news about frozen yogurt. After Frøya S Galaxy, Frøya on Milestone arrives Frøya HTC Desire! The Netherlands HTC to announce that tomorrow will be distributed by the official update to Android Frøya 2.2 for all you country. Users of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg will thus be the first to be able to install the final version of the Desire Frøya. There take a long time for this Rom is released for other countries by HTC or perhaps faster, thanks to developers from tomorrow.
If Frøya until last month was still unknown for many phones and not know the timing of updates, the manufacturers seem to have accelerated the progress and issue of new distributions is imminent for many devices, almost all top range.

These are 100% confirmed. For others like Acer Stream Liquid And Acer, Motorola Milestone, Legend, Wildfire, the new Samsung and other updates, very likely but still not completely sure.
Froyo leaks are coming out of the woodwork, and next up is the Samsung Galaxy S i9000. Some friendly Samsung hackers in Amsterdam got ahold of the leak and are hard at work getting it ready for download. Hopefully, they're in a quaint coffee shoppe un-watermarking and prepping things and not locked away in some harshly lit basement :)
The download is scheduled to be up at 1200 Amsterdam time (that's 6 a.m. EDT/ 3 a.m. PDT for those of us on American unstandard time), and you'll be able to find it at Samsung Firmwares. Be warned -- this isn't for your Vibrant or Captivate just yet ... give the developers a few hours to get it ported over, we'll let you know!
French owners of the Samsung Galaxy S will be able to get their Android 2.2 for their Super AMOLED smartphones come this September according to Samsung. Android 2.2 will bring a number of speed improvements to the Android operating system as well as support for Adobe's Flash 10.1 Mobile plug-in on Android's Webkit-based browser.
Unlike the US variants of the Galaxy S--Sprint Epic 4G excluded--the international version of the Galaxy S supports a front-facing video camera, which would be good for some FlashTime video calls.
At last, the first post-E3 firmware update for the PlayStation 3, and as you might've suspected, this one's got PlayStation Plus packed into the mix. We've talked about the service a bit so far, but to recap, $50 annual nets you a 50 percent discount on PSN titles, early access to betas, and one hour of demo time on select full titles (among other benefits). If you're not willing to shell out the Ulysses S Grant, however, however, there's a few other treats in the software patch, including five-star ratings for content purchased on the Store, video editor and uploader for Facebook and YouTube (note: not a video capture service, gotta use what the HDD already has), and expanded integration into Picasa and Facebook photo galleries. Speaking of Facebook, a new app will appear on the social site for showing off your PSN profile and befriending others. As usual, no exact date for the firmware is given, but if history's any indication, it won't be very long at all.
Update: We just checked our consoles and, sure enough, the update is live. We're downloading now and will let you know if there's anything peculiar.
