Steve Jobs takes another medical leave from Apple

Steve Jobs CEO of Apple, sent out an email today to all Apple employees informing them that, Apple’s board of directors has granted him a medical leave of absence so he can focus on his health. He goes on to say he will continue to be involved in the “major strategic decisions for the company”, although he has asked Apple COO Tim Cook to “be responsible for all of Apple’s day to day operations”. According to the email he plans on getting back to work as soon as possible, but requests that this absence be a private one for him and his family.

Not sure what this could mean, Steve Jobs did have a liver transplant in the early months of 2009 when on medical leave from Apple. I’m sure all the newest iPod’s, iPhone and whatever else Apple has in store for us in 2011 are already in full swing so it’ll be interesting to see how it’s delivered to us with Mr. Jobs on leave, and if it will have the same impact it would have had he not left. Hopefully Steve will be back in full force soon, delivering his always exciting release of the next iPhone come June.
