How a Real HTC Buttonless Android 3.0 Phone Might Look

Earlier today there was a sighting of an HTC smartphone with Verizon branding that had no buttons. We walked away feeling skeptical that what we were looking at was indeed an upcoming HTC handset and not a haphazard rendering. While buttonless Android phones might be just around the corner thanks to the capabilities of Android 3.0 Honeycomb, we're sure that HTC would innovate a bit on hardware once removed from the confines of having to include buttons. As you can see in our rendering, an HTC buttonless phone would probably have a huge screen and extremely thin bezels. This would offering a striking, all-screen aesthetic. Beyond that, since it'd be running Honeycomb, it'll have virtual buttons on all screens that occur to the left of the system time. Swiping up from the virtual button area will reveal the notification tray.
