Nokia set to kill “Comes with Music”

What was once thought to be a potential challenge to Apple’s iTunes, “Comes with Music” is now riding off into the sunset after launching in 2008 due to lack of interest or what Nokia calls “traction.” Nokia’s music download service launched in over 27 countries will continue with 12 month subscriptions for free music in China, India, and Indonesia and 6 month subs in Brazil, Turkey and South America.
The service was launched in Britain in 2008 but never seemed to garner the support needed from mobile operators or handset owners along with Nokia using the service to sell older handsets. If you have a subscription now it well continue to allow access to music downloads until it expires. Any thoughts on why Comes with Music didn’t work?
