Plagued by shortages and long wait times, the iPhone 4 has been a success for Apple, but not one that is without its flaws. A number of issues have come up since the handset was released, chief among them is the reception issue, where touching the steel antenna band at the lower left corner of the screen would degrade signal strength significantly; Apple is suggesting you get a case or hold the phone differently in that regards.
Users of Apple's new and hotly coveted handset have noticed a number of smaller issues as well, including anything from screen discoloration from un-dried glue to faulty proximity sensors that won't turn the screen off during a call when you're holding the phone to your cheek. I've noticed that particular problem when using my phone and that results in inadvertently trying to make a FaceTime call to randomly pressing buttons and attempting to dial other people in mid-call.
There have also been reports of the camera not being able to focus as well as on the iPhone 3GS to a more serious issue of a yellowing color on the phone's camera, as reported by TUAW. That issue is a result of the phone not being able to discern and adjust for the lighting environment it is under--different lightings provide a different hue that a camera must be able to adjust and compensate for, such as fluorescent lighting, tungsten lit areas, as well as outdoors sunlight.
