iPhone Death Grip Tested on 7 New Handsets
During the iPhone 4 Antenna issue keynote, CEO Steve Jobs made it a point to emphasize that Apple was not the only handset manufacturer to have devices suffer
from signal loss when held ‘incorrectly,’ which he demonstrated on some out of date hardware. (Blackberry Bold, Droid Eris, Samsung Omnia 2). We here at TechnoBuffalo decided to test his notion, and tested 7 of the most popular, cnew phones on the market, which should give a nice sampling of what to expect when you go to your carriers shop to pick out your shiny new toy. In this round of death drip tests we tried:
* iPhone 4
* EVO 4G
* Droid X
* iPhone 3GS
* HTC Aria
* Nexus One
* Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S)
The results were surprising. If you don’t us to spoil the ending, stop reading now.
Predictably, both Apple devices suffered the same fate. The HTC built phones (Nexus One, EVO, Aria) all came out unscathed, as did the Droid X. The Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) on the other hand dropped its bars faster than any other phone tested. The moral? Test your device before you buy it. Do these results surprise you? Want to test your own phone and post the results below?
