Droid X HD Video Camera Samples
The Droid X is the only smartphone to have three microphones. These microphones are used not only for noise cancellation while on a call, but also to selectively record audio when filming a video. As we mentioned in our hardware review, this is achieved with Scenes, such as Narrative, Subject, and Outdoors. You cannot change a Scene while filming, which is not ideal. Below are three HD video samples taken with the Droid X so that you can see for yourself how the audio and video quality stacks up.
This is with the Narrative Scene turned on while outdoors. As you can see, the background noise is kept to a minimum while the narrator's voice is clear and crisp.
In this video, we switch to Subject while outdoors, thus activating the microphone in front of the camera. You should be hearing more background noise, birds, etc.
And finally, here's a test of the Droid X's video recording capability in a low light setting. The Droid X has an LED light which we did not use. Also, this video used the Narrative scene.
